About Our Shop

Favorite Recent Comic Book: DC Comics/Vertigo's Scalped and Image Comics' Casanova.

Products Carried: Comics (New, Back Issues and Imports), Magazines, Graphic Novels, Toys (New), T-Shirts, Models & Statues, Trading Cards (Non-Sport), RPGs, Posters, Supplies (Comic) and more.

Special Events: We throw parties every two months or so with free beer, art shows or signings.

Community Involvement: We participate in local comic shows/cons, like Wizard or NOLA Comic-Con.

How was your FCBD event? Great. Lots of new customers and kids came in, and sales were awesome too.

What aspect of your store makes you the most proud? Our variety of genres. We carry more non-superhero titles than superhero ones, and we enjoy cultivating readers instead of collectors.

What has been your best in-store promotion? Our sales on first volumes of GNs are always successful. The Walking Dead, Scalped, Fables, Chew and Criminal (our favorite series, basically) go on sale at 2 for $20 and 3 for $30, which helps start folks on good series that we always keep in stock.

What has been your best out-of-store or cross promotion? Sponsoring shows like the Alternative Media Expo.

What recent changes have you made in the store? We've added more graphic novel shelves and are about to add more!

What are your plans for the near future? We plan on being more involved in local comic-con planning.

As with their alternative comics, Crescent City carries a large selection from the larger publishers too. The graphic novel section is full of interesting reading, with IDW's Reid Fleming: World's Toughest Milkman Volume 1 being a highlight. Customers looking for T-Shirts need only gaze to the heavens to have their wishes granted.
